The Constitutional Visit
The constitutional assessment is at the heart of homeopathic treatment. A constitution is the totality of unique reactions and affinities of an individual; it takes into account the mental, emotional, and physical state of the person. During a constitutional assessment the doctor gathers in-depth information about how an individual responds to stressors and the global function of the person. This assessment process takes two hours.
Your doctor will collect the information and look for persistent patterns. This includes a full health history of the patient and other immediate family members, a review of the primary symptoms, along with previous health ailments and injuries. The doctor will also gather information on diet, sleep, and how the patient responds to stressors.
The purpose of collecting and studying the information is to find the homeopathic remedy that is suited for you at this time. The doctor may need time to study your case or he may give you a remedy at the time of your appointment. There are over 2,000 homeopathic remedies.
